Please remember the women in the South, too. Our access to abortion is pretty bad, now. I know of someone who had to drive a ten-hour round-trip, TWICE, to get a medical abortion. It will be even worse for us down here if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

Thank goodness she had a car of her own and enough money for gas, as well as the procedure...lots of women don't.

I think that women in "blue" states can sometimes forget how precarious the situation is in the South. I don't want to be one of those Obama supporters who waves Roe v. Wade around to try and shame Clinton supporters into voting for Obama but... *sighs*

Yeah, there are way too many anti-abortion bills in many states, especially in the South. I fear Roe v. Wade is going to be challenged soon, and I'm very afraid that it won't be upheld. Have you heard about Bush's desire to grant protections for health workers who morally object to various procedures, drugs, etc (aka reproductive freedoms)? It's freaking scary.

Ah, Asheville. I love it. I haven't been to Malaprops in quite some time. :(

Malaprops' women's studies section is bigger than most chain bookstores' sections. I could spend a few hours (and a lot of money!) in there.

Don't think I've been to the chocolate place. I remember going to, uh, the Laughing Seed? Vegetarian place. I'm not a vegetarian though, but what I got was okay. ;)

They actually just expanded their women's studies and NDN/African-American sections too.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeee! Really??? :D I'm going to have to go over there as soon as I find a job and get a stable income. (Recent graduate here.)

(What's NDN stand for?)
