Do you know this writer?

I have been downloading the 'Women's Hour' podcast from the BBC to listen to on the bus home and so on. There was one a few months ago which had an interview with a female, American writer. She had gone 'under cover' as a man and had joined groups, such as a bowling club, and dated women as a man as well as other things. She has published a book/study based on her experiences and I'm interested to read it. However, I am a dumbass and deleted that interview from my Ipod and iTunes without taking a note of the writer's name or book.

Does anyone on here know what writer I could be talking about?
