I've noticed that sometimes (usually on heavily feminist themes like pornography and prostitution? maybe not, but it seems like it) a poster will be told that "someone already posted about this." But here we have a post on slash fanfic even though another was made just a few posts ago and it doesn't seem to bother anyone. It dosen't bother me in the least. I'm just not clear on why it matters at all on any topic. Obviously if someone made a post on a serious subject like trafficking and that post only garnered five or 10 comments before sinking to the bottom of the page, I'm going to want to make a new post rather than just comment to a dead discussion. Am I on the right track here?
Oh wait, I think I misunderstood. People were probably just being helpful and pointing out previous on-topic posts so that they could be worked into the new discussion not to say that the person shouldn't have posted anew. How can you not be somewhat redundant when discussing problems that have yet to be solved? Heck, I mean, even when dealing with slash!
I'm still fairly new to feminism on livejournal because I dropped out for a while after initially signing up. I'd love to hear various impressions of the feminist communities on LJ. I haven't joined that many yet because it's all a bit overwhelming
