[The PCD turns on to show Asuna sitting on one of the lower limbs of a large tree near Whipstaff. It is early evening and a soft breeze is rustling the colorful leaves around Asuna. [Asuna jumps a little as she is pulled out of her own thoughts and back into reality. She scowls briefly before she realizes who it was who called out to her- when she does a smile creeps across her face.]

I would take you up into the air for a better view, but Al told me that I shouldn't fly very high for a while.

But...this place seems to be on-par with Wales as far as Autumn goes. The leaves are very pretty!

[He reaches up to take her hand, putting a foot on the trunk of the tree to help himself up.]

[She pulls him up fairly easy. He's not all that big still and she's strong for being only fourteen. She waits for him to settle in (making sure he isn't going to fall or something) before looking up at the sky.]

Is there something about flying high here that could hurt ya?

Mm, no, I've done it here before. Just, with Envy...he doesn't know what I look like, so I don't want to attract attention to myself. He could use my face to trick Al and hurt him.

[She sighs.] Yes, he knows my name but he only thinks I know of Ed from the network. I got the feeling from him as soon as I mentioned Ed that he... changed so I just commented I would have to use the insult he gave me if I ever saw Ed on the network again.

[In all fairness- she gave Envy her name before Al warned people about him.]

I don't think I'm anyone Envy thinks he can use to hurt Ed or anyone else.

He's a shapeshifter, Asuna-san. You would be surprised. But at least we can ask you to use your Artifact as proof that it's really you. Al said that abilities can't be copied.

If he doesn't think that you're associated with them, just that you know them...maybe it will be okay. I've already accidentally let on that I'm close to Al, though.

[He pulls out his PCD, queueing up a conversation completely in audio, letting Asuna listen.]

[Asuna listens to the audio before saying anything else. When it is done playing she looks at Negi, her expression one of compassion.]

Negi... It's natural to miss someone when they're gone. It's not selfish. As for your father...

[She sighs, looking up into the branches above.]

You've been looking for him all your life. Remember how you told me his Pactio card was still valid? How could that be if he was dead?

[She puts an arm around Negi's shoulders and gives him a gentle squeeze.]

In some ways you've grown up a lot from the Negi I knew but in other ways... you're still a little runt.
