19th century Japan, when the English were taking over. Follows actual events in history. Has Shinsengumi in it (Okita, Hijikata, Tetsusuke... remind you of any other anime yet?) Samurais, chants, spirits, war, politics (I had to mention this). Oh yeah. And pretty characters (LIKE KANNA) plus nice music. 8D It's only 26 episodes long. D:
I'd say it's a good anime for anyone who likes Japanese History. XD And fights. Can't forget those. ...and somehow this anime reminds me of Last Exile. O_o Don't know why...
