Well, I just had a fantastic weekend with tokensmile. She won a stay in a castle in North Wales, near Caernarfon (for her ourstanding contribution...). It was a fantastic rambling old place, with suitably kooky-but-nice landlady and masses of space, old regency stairwells, amazing carved bed... it was really cool to just get away, and idle in the countryside ( Read more... )

I know it is terminally unfashionable to like anything at the top of the charts (although album chart toppers are more acceptable than singles), but 'An End Has a Start' is a stunning album, and Editors are currently rarely off my CD player. Their verses, as tokensmile observed, are very Joy Division, while their choruses are anthemic like somebody like Muse ( Read more... )
