Exam
So I was completely unprepared; took no water in (three and a half hours), just launched myself into the first four questions before thinking about structure and paragraphs... but I think I did pretty good. I need 86% in it to get a distinction for the module, so we'll see. God my hand hurt by the end of it, though. Writing... how last millenium is that?
Bookends
Rediscovered a fantastic independent bookshop I'd forgotten about on Charing Cross Road, across and down a little from Foyle's. Got some great books at great prices. You need to go there because a) you'll be giving your support to independents b) the prices are amazing - great bargains even if you don't buy three books, and c) they're really nice and friendly.
Rokit
Got my costume for Stu's party at the weekend mainly from Rokit, which if you don't know it is an amazing retro/vintage clothes shop in Covent Garden - walking down Neal Street from the tube, when you hit the cobbled street with the pub on the corner, turn right, and it's just down there. It's huge, has loads of really cool stuff, is great fun to rummage in, and the people are really friendly. They also have branches in Camden and Brick Lane. Have a great 70s outfit now, and
tokensmile has a slinky sexy 60s get-up.
The Perils of Chivalry
Was out for a meal last night with
tokensmile. Went to the loo, and there are a few doors you have to go through before you get to the little antechamber off of which is first the mens then the ladies. A girl fell into step behind me, obviously also headed for the toilet. As I tend to do, I held open the couple of doors for her behind me, and then went into the men's... and, on autopilot, held that door open for her too...! So I guess she either thought me incredibly bold, or thought that I thought she was a man. Oops. Needless to say, she didn't follow me in...
