Midnight
It was the night before Kirenestus's banquet, and already his estate was a flurry of activity. Small runestones dotted the grounds. Their glowing runes cast blue light on the plants that the Tauren tended. Due to the corruption in the soil, the effect of

Tarin pursed her lips a moment, peering at Traejan as she tried to decide if she detected an insult in his words. She decided to let it go a moment later, looking back to Thistle pleasantly. "Thank you! You look nice yourself. I brought something for you too, but I'm sure the gift exchange will be later on. After we eat, at least."

"We still have time to flee the scene, you know," she joked weakly as her dreadsteed stepped forward confidently. If Rosefica was over-warm due to its fiery mane, she didn't complain. Though she had started out in high spirits, the closer to the Ghostlands they got, the more her good mood had ebbed away. She hoped she would be able to rally herself up again, once they got to Kirenestus' manor.
Even the air seemed heavier to her, and she began to think she knew what Sunthistle had been talking about when he said the Ghostlands were "cold." The two of them approached the gates of the manner, somewhat behind the last group. "I wonder if we're late."

"Relax, Rose," Lilith tells her friend calmly, giving her a reassuring smile. "And if we're late, we'll be fashionably so."
She eyed the manor as they approached, noting it's majesty and the extensive decorations along every tower and window. "It seems your instructor outdid himself on the Winter Veil decorations."

The door to the manor opened up into a small foyer. Straight ahead, a staircase split off to two different sides, two different spires of the manor. To Kirenestus's right, the dining room was set to receive the guests. To his left, the door was closed.
"Welcome! Happy Winter Veil, everyone! Come in, come in!"
Aegnas walked out of the closed door and shut it behind him. He was dressed in black dress robes, without his runeblades for once, and he stood next to Kirenestus while he greeted everyone.

He paused near Kirenestus and Aegnas, nodding to either of them in turn in greeting. "Good evening. You've somewhere to place gifts, I assume? These are yours," he said, referring to the warlock as he spoke of the boxes.

"Good evening, Instructor. Aegnas." She could do this, she could.Rose's tone didn't waver. However, her hand over Lilitharien's tightened. "May I introduce my good friend Lilitharien Dawnfire?"

Her stealth dissolved behind the hooked arms of the girls, and she appeared grinning up at the two men.
"Good evening, sirs and ladies, thank you for your invite, your property is admirable. I am Cirys Sparrow," she gave a short bow, one hand at her chest and the other fanned out at her side.

Thistle leads them not to the house, but off to one side. They're still within the light of it, but not somewhere they can be easily overheard by a guest. If there's security about, they might be overheard by them, but Thistle isn't on the lookout for them.
"Be careful of her," he warns. "The forsaken women. She's dangerous. She gave me a poison turnip." Pause. "Kirenestus said he wouldn't let her poison anything tonight. But be careful. Okay? If you see her somewhere else."

She listened closely as he explained himself, nodding. "I see.. I'll keep an eye out. She did seem a bit.. mm.. odd. But she's also a Forsaken. They're all a bit strange as a people.." She paused as well, picking at the beads of her bracelet with one hand idly. "... So a poison turnip? That's mean. Why would someone do that?"
Reply
"Yes. She's odd. And mean. She teased our goat. Snowy was scared. She wouldn't leave her alone." Then he takes a deep breath in. "Kirenestus said he wouldn't let her poison anything, so tonight will be okay. But be careful if you see her another time."
He shakes his head no to her turnip question. "I don't know. When I wouldn't take it, she hid it in Snowy's pack. I don't know why. Maybe her brain rotted."

"Do you have anywhere to keep Holly? You'll probably want to have your hands free at some point.."

He really hoped he'd run into someone he knew like Aenestrian or Lillith.

"Hold on, I do not recognize you." He peered at the invitation, then nodded. "I apologize for the caution. The others are making their way into the house now. Kirenestus is waiting for you at the door."
