Did I mention we're having a new drain installed?

The last few weeks have been quite busy, what with catching up on lots of new responsibilities at work.  That seems to have calmed down some and now I get to focus back on the fun part: design.  I actually get excited when I get to sit down with a couple of other engineers and just brainstorm how we're going to make this thing work!  There will be a lot more of that coming up in the very near future.  Fortunately, all the project documentation Dave left behind wasn't too difficult to update.  No offense to him but he didn't really have experience running a project in the rigid environment of aerospace, plus he wasn't all that interested in project management.  Hence, quite a few changes, but I managed to get a grip on everything over the last two weeks.

At home, the belly continues to grow, still set to lauch on Nov. 9.  My wife just got back from a week with her parents, during which she saw her sister's new baby and also was the recipient of a baby shower!  The great part was that she came home with lots of stuff we need.  The downside is that she had to be around her sisters.  Let's just say they don't always see eye to eye.

In a week we're going to Grand Rapids for a baptism where we're the proud Godparents!  Two weeks after that it's up to my folk's in Midland for a baby shower with many of my wife's old friends.  In the meantime it's all about what needs to be done to the house to get it ready.  I've got to rewire the whole upstairs, fix the gutters on the garage, and install a new drainpipe to keep the water from running under the basement windows.  (Did anyone catch the Emma reference in my subject line?  It's not entirely accurate, as I'll be doing the installing myself.)

On the writing front, I'm sad to say that Iviolinist won't be my beta for "Unbreakable Bonds", although she still wants to help. :)  We're working out the details now so hopefully things will get into motion soon.

Well, I'm going to enjoy a three-day weekend with nothing to do.  We're not going anywhere and we have no plans for projects.  That's nice sometimes.
