Jitterbug

I am so upset about the shootings at Virginia Tech that I don't even know what to say. I lived in West Ambler Johnston, the dorm where the first shooting took place. There was never a time where I felt unsafe when I was at Virginia Tech. When I moved out of the dorms and into the apartments, we never locked our doors. When my neighbor got drunk and came into our apartment (thinking he was in *his* apartment), took off his pants, and crawled in bed with me, it never occurred to be anything but amused. Virginia Tech is the kind of place where babies can crawl across the streets and night. I think they had 2 murders in 10 years. Violence was not something people worried about. I just can't believe it happened.

I have to write about something happier so that I won't sink into a muck.

So...today I scared a man on a ladder. He was working on our windows from the outside and I was sitting on the couch eating a sandwhich in my underwear. Oh boy did he get an eyefall and we both screamed, but he didn't fall and die or anything.

Over the weekend, I went to my first cajin wedding. It was on the bayou at a restraunt and we ate lots of seafood and desserts and everbody got super drunk and a Cajin band was playing. This old guy asked me to dance and he tried to teach me the Cajin two-step but everybody told me I looked like I was doing the robot. I think next time I try to Cajin Two Step, I will drink more. I also want to learn how to Jitterbug. I like the way "Jitterbug" sounds and I want to use it in sentences and say "I CAN JITTERBUG!" and then go cut a rug and look cool.
