Humph, yeah yeah, laugh at my pain! *grumbles*

Ok, I already tried that because that was the online advice I found last time. Of course it didn't work then (until I took it to the shop, that is, when it mystically sprung to life) and it isn´t working now either. I've cleaned them with q-tips and blown on them to get any dust out. Nothing. :(

It's an iBook G4, originally 40 GB but I upgraded it to 160 GB about 6 months ago. I bought it 2005. Not sure what more he needs to know?

It was plugged in at the time since the battery has a very short life by now. The yellow light still shines where it's plugged in so clearly there is some electricity going on there.

Sounds like it has lost its charge--can you switch the battery? Also, plug in the charger and see if it works. The chargers in iBooks die like flies. I have gone through three.

Well, it was plugged in at the time and was supposedly fully charged since it had been plugged in all day. The battery hardly lasts beyond an hour these days so I just keep it plugged in. I don't have another battery. Or another charger. Not sure they even sell for this model anymore. *sighs*

sounds like a dead battery and faulty charger. Does the light ever turn green anymore? If not, its not getting a full charge. I bought my extra chargers off ebay--and you can find Mac clone chargers that work.
