I sat for three hours working on my NaNoWriMo today and managed a little over 2000 words. And that is by typing up, with a lot of adding and editing, what I had already written in my notebook. *headdesk ( Read more... )

I didn't realise you were NaNo-ing as well. You have my best wishes and support.

I hope you have a better writing day tomorrow.

Thank you. And you have mine. This is the first time I do this so I'm feeling kinda overwhelmed.

I haven't written any fiction in my own language since college. It's proving very hard. *sighs*

"...For one thing, I don't think my muse even understands Icelandic."

I got this funny mental picture of your muse looking at you like you had lost your mind. LOL

Can I ask a silly question? Why do you need to write in Icelandic, why not English? Could you write it in English and then translate it once Nano is over?

Also, you CAN do this! Repeat after me: "I CAN and WILL do this!!!" Also, remember to have fun! That's an order :P

Not a silly question at all.

Frankly, I've tried to translate English into Icelandic and I kinda suck at it. lol It would probably be easier with my own text but still...

I'm working on a crime novel for a competition one of the publishing companies is holding here. Not that I ever expect to win but I thought it would be a good opportunity to try my hand at writing something original, instead of the usual fanfic. And, you know, the 1 million ISK prize would be nice... g*

I always wanted to try writing something in Icelandic and try to maybe get it published. Even if I don't win the competition, if it's not complete crap some other publishing company might be interested, who knows?

And I'm doing better now, writing. It's actually a lot more work to type up something you've already written by hand than making it up as you go. And I'm getting a hang of the keyboard, even if I still hit the wrong keys a lot.

Now I just need to figure out where this story is going. lol
