Ha! We had that with Verity when we moved the bunk-beds into her room, intending her to sleep on the bottom one. We took the ladder away. The little minx immediately shinned up the bedpost, taking her bedding with her. We decided to give her the ladder back because it was safer that way.
Thing is it's so high. I can stand under it and I'm about 1.70 m. So if we take away the ladder the girl can't get up. And it's bolted to the bed so we can't just move it away whenever. *sighs*
And no, not much sleep. The sun keeps shining into my eyes in the mornings, through the curtains. Need either thicker curtains or a sleepmask. It's always like this in the summer. I love our bright summer nights but not so much when I'm trying to sleep.

A very thick rug on the floor might be the thing.

Maybe you could have some kind of safety net for the bed, but have it in pink/purple with butterflies and fairies on so your girl still likes it?
