My New Zealand friends, help!
I'm helping a friend translate a short story by Katherine Mansfield and now I am uncertain whether "chip potatoes" follow the American or the British English in New Zealand. So are we talking french fries or crisps or...? Bear in mind this is written sometime in the early days of the 20th century.
