How about this idea? You write a fanfiction with your favorite characters, and when you're finished you just replace the names with your original ones?

Would that work? And as it's a MA thesis it could probably also be released here as fanfic?

Well, the problem is that trying to write fanfic in Icelandic is... well, awkward. And writing it first in English and then translating it into Icelandic would be double work and I'm not sure it would sound any good anyway.

I have tried to write stories in Icelandic with the boys in mind but it always comes out rather strange. Maybe because they just don't fit into the Icelandic world, I don't know how to explain it.

I understand that the boys don't translate well into icelandic. You know that makes you even more awesome because you can write them in English (more American though!). Your muse will return. You are that good, of that I have no doubt. Just let it happen.
