A doll’s house was about a lady named Nora. In the beginning of the story she used the word free as a way to describe her way out of debt. She was a really nice person and would do almost anything to please to her husband and by anything I mean if he would have said jump she would have said how high. The husband’s name was Tovall and he was a evil man he was very controlling and told his wife exactly what to do. He controlled what she wore and what she would eat. Although this was norm back then many question was she like this because she didn’t know any better or this something she thought was good. In the story Nora has a friend named Linde. One who is very independent and didn’t need anyone to define who or she stood for, towards the end of the story the husband finds out that she paid to save his life. Thinking he would be happy about it he was devastated. The first thing that came out of his mouth was him complaining about getting ruined. This was a great story to read. It really took seeing this in class to know how bad her treatment was. The worksheet that went along with this assignment also helped me keep up with the story. Once it was all said and done Nora lost her husband and realized what the word freedom really meant. She was able to live her life. To me I don’t think she knew how bad life was until she was able to live how she wanted.
