So much for posting at least once a week

I will try to do better.

On Saturday, we had tickets to see Weird Al up in the Lakes region of New Hampshire, an area where Kevin used to vacation with his family. This gave us the opportunity to visit Funspot, which was featured in the highly recommended film The King of Kong. With the largest collection anywhere of classic video games, this was indeed a fun place to spend the day. (Not being very good at video games myself, I concentrated on Skee-Ball.) Kevin even managed to find the stash of tokens he had left over from a brief trip 10 or so years ago, and we still had a handful at the end of the day. We eventually met up with our friend Kristen and her boyfriend Clint, who accompanied us to dinner and the concert. We then parted ways, and Kevin and I stayed the night in a nice little inn.

On Sunday, we weighed several options for local activities and eventually set out for Polar Caves, a place we both vaguely remembered from our childhood. The promise of "waterfowl" in the description sold us, and indeed we saw several interesting species of duck on the grounds. We had fun hiking up the mountain and through the caves, but my calves are very sore today! The heavy rain held off long enough for us to make it back to the gift shop, where we sat and had a drink until it had let up enough to return to the car.

Our final stop before heading home was the Tilt'n Diner. We had seen it on the way up, but not at an opportune time to stop for lunch. I'm glad the timing was right on the way back, because the food was excellent and Kevin always enjoys a good old-fashioned diner. We'll be eating the leftover halves of our giant sandwiches for dinner tonight!
