Swan Saturday
Last Saturday, after playing tennis, we walked to our local pond to feed the birds. We often see a pair of swans, sometimes with a single, full-grown offspring, but that day we saw little cygnets - four of them! Unfortunately, we had neglected to bring a camera, figuring we'd just see the usual suspects. The next day we returned, but the swans did not.
Today, we came prepared, hoping we would get lucky and see the swans again. And we did! Of course, something had to go wrong; this time my camera battery was low. I did manage to get a handful of good photos and even shoot a short movie before the charge ran out. I'll see about uploading it later, but for now, enjoy the latest additions to my Waterfowl set on Flickr. I captured a trio of ducks as well, but they swam off as the swans approached. I can't blame them; last week we saw one of the adult swans aggressively chase off a goose who was trying to get a share of the bread.
