Christmas is over and done. But over the ground lies a mantle of white . . .
We're getting our first real snow of the season here in Culpeper. And it's BEAUTIFUL. And I didn't have to go to work today. All the schools in the county closed based on the winter storm warning that's in effect.
Geo told me this after hearing it on the radio. To which I replied, "But there's nothing out there."
"Well, they're closed."
"But there's nothing out there."
Back in Ohio, it takes a little bit more than the threat of weather to keep me from work. Heck, I've driven to work in actual weather before. And it has to be really bad to close my previous job, so I had every intention of going to work today.
Then just as I'm finishing up, almost ready to walk out the door, I get a call from my boss telling me not to come in today. Yippee!!! Even for just a skiff of snow, the county shuts down. I have to chuckle.
The snow started probably around 9:00 am, and it's still coming. Wonder if I should shovel the sidewalk.
Still, my roads can be treacherous if the snow plows aren't out, and I just heard one go by about ten minutes ago.
So anyway, lovely snowy day, no work. Nice fire in the fireplace. I suppose I could actually get stuff done around the house. Or I could go do
