Looking back at 2008
Got really sick for a week and at the end of it, I managed to pull myself together long enough to perform at Alchemy's Student Showcase. It was kinda freaky doing spins 'cause my balance was crap.
February
Two days before Valentine's Day, my comp dies. Let me tell ya, not having a computer is really fucking humbling. lol. Like not having a cellphone can be freeing... but the opposite of that.
On V-day, I bellydanced at a burlesque show some friends coordinated. No disrobing for me, thanks. It was an entertaining evening.
March
After consulting my personal computermeister, Jaybird, I managed to get the bucks together for my poor old comp and he fixed her better than new. :D
Meantime at work tension was starting to get higher between my supervisor and I...
April
Midnight goes on vacation, leaving me alone with my boss and my unnecessarily aggressive supervisor. I'm miserable at this point.
May
New coworker is hired and I'm a bit freaked out thinking that I'm fired. I'm not. Just given a different job and different hours.
As a reward, I buy myself a new cellphone. :)

This was an INCREDIBLE month. I mean WOW. I'm amazed by the stuff that happened!

Spent one of the coolest birthdays ever at a hotel for the weekend in New Jersey FILLED with nothing but belly dancers and performing with my friends and teacher at Rakassah Spring Caravan. As a gift I got a corset belt from Irina and Sophia. XD
Bought myself a Sanza Fuse Mp3 player in sexy red. Another treat for myself. :P
Missed the Mermaid Parade... :(
Dragged Jaybird with me to rock the fuck out to DETHKLOK!
The very next day, Sophia and I spot Eddie Izzard walking down the street with friends to get wine. She got his autograph. lol. Sunday after that, Jay took me with him to see Izzard perform live at Radio City Music Hall. That place is bloody GORGEOUS AND HUGE.

Things are pretty quiet this month. Supervisor is now sweet as a freakin' kitten as she's sees how efficient I am in my new position. I have no troubles with her from this time on. We're practically the best of friends. It's so weird how things change...

It's also quiet this month...

Astroland Park in Coney Island ran its rides, pumped its music and partied for the final time. Tons of people had to be kicked out so the park could finally be shut down. It was both a sad and beautiful day.

Another quiet month. Didn't do anything for Halloween. Just took it easy.
November
Barack Obama becomes the first Black President Elect. People are losing their minds on the streets of New York. I was in Brooklyn, quietly watching Jon Stewart tell me Obama won and wondering when he was gonna spring the punchline. He never did.
Bellydance Superstars came to town and I got to see them for the first time. Bought a gorgeous calendar. It was fun. :)
Actually spent Thanksgiving with my family for the first time in years...

As a work anniversary gift to myself, I bought my beloved Nikon camera. The rest of the world rolls its eyes at the non-stop cam-whoring I'd sworn to myself I'd never do. LMAO.
Spent a nice, quiet Christmas vacation with my Jaybird, as well as my New Years vacation. A very, very happy New Year, indeed. :)
