Summary: For dc_dystopia twisted fairy tales: Left abandoned by his family, Dean has had a hard life. Now, he finds himself falling for his employer, Castiel Novak. In turn, Castiel is drawn to the broken being and wishes to do all he can to fix Dean. Luckily, both may have the Profound Bond many wish for. Unluckily, Dean's family is not done with him yet... Based off the story "Catskin"

Castiel was only allowed near the operation because he was close to having a nervous breakdown, which meant Dean was in serious condition and would probably only react favorably to his mate. Hendrickson, in a last-ditch effort and with few options, had gone to Sam Winchester and demanded answers.
Sam, upon hearing that his brother was in danger, had given them as many locations as he could, and the fact that Jessica had nearly been similarly attacked in the Stanford area. It had allowed Virgil to up his time-table, which he considered a bonus, and get his men ready.
The moment they got near the compound, Castiel had nearly jumped the fence to get in, which was enough of a signal for the men to go with plan “charge”. A small group followed Castiel, most of them armed with stun and dart guns that would allow others to secure the area and get more of them convicted, or at least not have so many crying out against killing of family.
Castiel was determined, making a straight line for a door on the far side of the compound, picking up pace right before a scream came that direction. The group had held Dean for nearing a full twenty-four hours, and there was a high chance, after what Sam Winchester confessed, that they were going to try and force a birth, or do caesarian. The group was also not known for having a lot of pain medication available, or giving it to the mothers, if they felt their time was up.
With that, Castiel sprinted down the hall, the team working to keep up as he got to the nearby hall, beating down a man waiting in the hallway before going into a room where the screams were coming from. The leader of the team managed a dart in the tall man Castiel had taken down for good measure before he entered the room and froze, quickly calling for a medic to help and ordering one of his men to search for keys. The medic hurried over, surveying the damage done and quickly nodding before going up and touching Dean gently.
“Dean? Listen, I know it hurts, I know you’re scared, but you have to keep this up. I can’t stop it, you’re dilated too far.”
Dean moaned, his wrists and ankles red and bloody from where he’d pulled against the handcuffs. Castiel quickly tried to soothe him, obvious worry on his face as the medic instructed them, working to calm both the Beta and the Alpha down while one of the team members quickly came in and undid the handcuffs, hurrying to other locations to do the same with a few dozen other women and men they’d found in nearby rooms. Another was volunteered as the helper, quickly taking care of the cuts and wounds from earlier, while the medic coached Dean and Castiel through what needed to be done, the helper rushing to get the required items from a nearby storage room that was, in his opinion, too well stocked for these things.
Dean clung to Castiel through all of it, crying and screaming at the pain as Castiel worked to try and help, his own look one of panic and anger. The team moved the body of the man and the nurse quickly and quietly, though a few were of the opinion that maybe the nurse could be left behind. It was well-known that bonded Alphas could get VERY violent if their Betas were in distress, and the way Castiel was acting before had left no doubt in their mind what would’ve happened if they’d walked in on a caesarian.
Ambulances and other emergency vehicles arrived as quickly as they could, most of them taking very sick Alphas or very pregnant Betas away, a few others going through what they could find as far as reports and personal effects of the people who had lived there. Dean couldn’t be moved until he’d given birth, and unluckily the drugs that had been used were not making it easy on him.
After long hours of pain, Dean managed to hold Ariel briefly in his arms before passing out.

“You,” Gabriel told him as he approached with coffee that he’d brought in from his own home, “look like shit.”
“Dean is still resting,” Castiel told him, accepting the cup but not drinking it. It had been like that for a few days, the effects of being abused and the drug they’d given him to start contractions and the birth early (apparently as a prelude to ‘cutting you open and seeing what your guts look like while searching for your kid’) had badly affected Dean and Ariel. Ariel was in the child’s ward, with Virgil watching over her like a hawk, and Castiel had decided to plant himself, quite literally, next to Dean.
Gabriel was beginning to think that anyone who didn’t see it as a Profound Bond was not only blind, but obviously off their meds. Ellen had agreed after Castiel began to look drained and Dean improved slightly, as bonds were usually just empathic while profound ones…well, tended to be the type that meant wasting away with your loved one was normal. Ellen was about five seconds away from forcing Cas into a bed as well, and hooking him up to an IV.
Gabriel was behind her on this, and let out an annoyed huff as he watched Castiel sit before taking the cup and putting it on the bedside table. “Ari’s doing great. Doctor’s say she’ll be a healthy, happy little female Beta.” He glanced at Dean. At least that tube wasn’t down his throat anymore. “Ellen also said that if I can’t get you to eat and keep down this small donut, she’s going to hook you up to an IV and probably yell at you later.”
Castiel glanced at Gabriel as he shrugged. “I’m going to help if she does, and watch. And video tape it so I can show Dean later and he can at least have something to laugh about.”
His brother slowly nodded and accepted the small donut, eating it slowly and carefully as the nurse came in to check on Dean, telling Castiel that Dean was doing better and should wake up soon, and that they were going to move Ariel into this room so she and mama Dean could bond.
Gabriel stayed, coaxing water and a bit of coffee and a few more small pieces of foodstuffs into his brother, which had a positive effect on Dean as well. The dark green eyes were open before sunset, looking around before locking on Cas and staying there.
“Well, my work here is done. You’d better both get better, I expect to spoil my niece rotten.”

Dean was still in the hospital, mostly because Cas had been so drained and was recovering as well, when Sammy walked in. Dean blinked, looking his brother over with concern and a small bit of trepidation. Sam had only grown a bit more since his growth spurt, and wore his hair long, or at least longer than Dean had let it grow before giving him a haircut. Behind him was a shorter woman who smiled at him as Sam said, “Dean.”
“Sammy.”
He didn’t protest or say his name was Sam. Instead, he looked horrified and saddened and finally blurted out, “I…I’m sorry, I didn’t…if I’d...”
Dean managed a smile, even if it was a sad one, as Castiel stirred and blinked, looking at the two in confusion. Sam looked anywhere but Cas, like if he did he’d blurt out something stupid, and the girl with him was obviously trying to calm him.
“Sammy, hey,” Dean said, reaching out a hand. Sam looked down, away, then finally reached out to take it, giving it a small squeeze. “Wasn’t your fault.”
Sam looked ready to argue, which was when Ariel decided to be a bit fussy. The small group turned to look at her, Cas picking her up and handing her over to Dean as he rocked her gently. She had the same messy black hair that Cas did, but her eyes were a deep blue-green color, a mix of the intense blue that Cas’ family had and the green and hazel that Dean’s family did.
“Ari, this is your uncle Sammy,” Dean introduced, watching Sam swallow and look at the little baby in wonder and near-fright. “Sam, this is your niece, Ariel.”
Sam managed a smile. “Hey…um…this…this is your…my…this is Jess.”
Jess giggled softly and waved, Ari opening her eyes briefly before yawning hugely and going back to sleep.
Dean smiled at Sam, who appeared a bit surprised at the whole thing. “She likes you.”
“I…guess.”
Cas tilted his head, studying Sam and Jess, then said seriously, “I think you both would make be a good addition to her family.”
Sam looked stunned, and Jess smiled. Dean watched as Sam finally smiled back at him, looking back down at his niece.
There was a lot to be said between them, and a lot more to be dealt with. There was a half-brother named Adam who was now at Bobby’s, and a long trial that Crowley was ready for to the point of cackling maniacally and frightening some of the nurses. For now, Dean was just happy that he was able to see his brother again, and keep him in this new family.
