one of the things that i've slowly been introduced to here through a friend has been Comedy. I've always loved British comedy- Little Britain and Blackadder for example. My friend though has been keen to broaden my education and has sent me clips on youtube of more comedy. Comedy that's much darker and more satirical and even uncomfortable. Comedy that that is equal parts uncomfortable and funny (Peep Show with Mitchell and Webb) and Comedy that skewers modern society so accurately (check out Armstrong and Miller's RAF sketches) But perhaps the best thing I've been shown or have seen so far would be comedy that is funny, accurate and even sad. So here's Part 1 of comedian Stewart Lee on his new BBC tv show. I don't expect everyone to like it, it's pretty bitter but he talks about books, a topic that is close to my heart, and if you watch it till the end of Part 3, you can see why I think he's absolutely brilliant.
