EB games at Swanston Street here in Melbourne just opened its Nintendo floor where demos of various Nintendo Games were available for playing, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, and various DS Games. I went there because they said prizes were to be won :(
Mascots were also there, Mario and Pikachu particularly. Two Cosplayers, Peach and Daisy were in attendance as well (the ones from Manifest), and they had cake with the store employees. I spotted a couple guys playing Pokemon on the DS and asked if they had any extra starters, since I was missing Turtwig. One asian dood said sure, he'll even give me some of the GBA starters and I was like, YAY. But he was in the middle of a battle with another Trainer and so I had to wait.
So I tried Mario Kart Wii. I ended up being Peach, and I SUCKED TERRIBLY. GOD. 12th place after being somewhat proficient in the DS version (Peach Sucks anyway, I wanted to be Wario). And the guy was free now, and gave me an Egg that contained a Turtwig (finally!), Combusken, Grovyle, Mudkip, and Feraligator. I said my thanks and watched some guys play Brawl and was handed the controller.
I sucked. I was used to using the Nunchuck+Wiimote, so using just the Wiimote was a novelty for me. Some of the guys who went to this opening were pretty.... scary. You get some guys who look like they've never been introduced to the pause button and the shower, (like seriously, one guy's head was SNOWING). I met a couple nice guys too, one of them was apparently the dude to organises and runs the Local Brawl Tourneys.
Also on the subject of Nintendo stuff, Jacob got me a Toon Link Plush for Christmas. ITS SO COOOOOOOOOOT. Here it is with my other video game stuff.
and on the subject of something else:
THEY'RE SO CUTE TOO, BUT SOME OF THE EMOTES ARE WTF
