It was around this time 6 years ago that Ryan and I officially started dating. Not sure exactly how I'm feeling but it's a bit bittersweet. Last year was a bit different since I was time zones away and after it struck midnight we were trying to find our way across a city we weren't familiar with in a foreign country.
This New Years Eve wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I ended up taking up Rachael's offer in meeting her, her husband and his friends at the Mews. There was plenty of things to keep my mind occupied (multiple spilling of drinks, major drama, a lot of yelling due to card games, stapling dollar bills to the infamous ceiling of the downstairs bar -- if you sit in the corner booth, you'll find a dollar bill with a bunch of names written on it and you'll find "Chenster" in the top right hand corner of it! -- and one spewage of beer across the table the long way...) and the actual ringing in of the new year wasn't that awful either. The Mews served mediocre champagne (actually, "bubbly" if we want to be politically correct) and a bit of that was spilled all around also :P
Anyways, I met a guy nicknamed "Slice" that was a part of Rachael and Joker's group. When he introduced himself to me, he said that it was because of my pictures of their wedding on Flickr that he was able to connect with them, lol.
In any event, happy new year everyone! Tomorrow will be spent either doing taxes or looking for a new laptop. Or both :P
