Do you ever get the feeling that you should be doing something (else)?

Like, you're sitting somewhere, reading a book, or browsing the web, or sitting at a desk at work. And it strikes you. What are you doing? Is it meaningful? Is it rewarding? Is it enjoyable?

There are so many things that you can be doing, is this the one thing you want to be doing? If not, what's stopping you?

I ask these questions because sometimes I wonder whether I/we lock ourselves into a path for arbitrary reasons. I know not everyone can up and change their life on little more than a whim, but if you have that freedom, isn't it at least worth considering and not taking for granted?

I look at myself and my friends over the past 2 (since college), 6 (since graduating high school), and 10 (starting high school) years and there is one thing that amazes me. Not that I am/we are better, but at how we are capable of substantial change.

In a way, it reminds me of Dr. Seuss' Oh The Places You'll Go:

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.
