English is my second language, so I had trouble understanding some dialogues as well. I went to the Logan Lucky Reddit discussion thread, someone offered this explanation:
Normally a phone's service would be cut off on day 61 of not paying because they only get 60 days to pay. Well it never did shut off on day 61, but instead continued on for 6 months of what appeared to be "free" service. Normally they would never let someone have free service of course, something was up. Turns out, the FBI wanted to keep his phone on to tap in and listen to his conversations to find evidence against Channing. So, when the service finally cut off, that meant the FBI had given up on listening to him, thus meaning the case was closed. Hence, free to get the money.
If you're interested in reading real movie fans' reactions, Reddit is much better. On Reddit, there are no over-energetic Sebastian Stan fans.
Today I saw a Tumblr post by a S. Stan fan girl. She used Stopwatch app to track how much screen time Stan has in the movie and shared it with fellow fans. These fans also like to abuse the "Logan Lucky" tag on social media. The result is very annoying cause it created a lot of "gatbage". I want to read legitimate fan reactions towards the movie, not just S. Stan photos (some have nothing to do with Logan Lucky, but they often tag his pictures with every movie he has a part in). Another thing I find out is how many haters that female country singer LeAnn Rimes has, some tweeted they won't see the movie because she is in it.
Anyway, I'm a bit worried about the box office because some will see it as a failure of Soderbergh's self-distribution plan. We shall see what the number will be in the first 10-days.
