Over-sharing and Nepotism
About two weeks ago, Channing posted a nude wife bedroom photo on social media. It backfired a bit. But now snapchat-obsessed Mrs. Tatum did it again. This morning's headline is: Jenna Dewan Tatum Shares Shirtless Photo Of Hubby Channing Tatum In Bed: Couple Desperate For Attention?
Then Team Tatum had to go to Gossip Cop to deny the rumor, but the denial sound so unconvincing. After all, the team could not say the Tatums didn't post those photos. Here is the statement:
Let Gossip Cop set the record straight. A source close to Tatum assures us the report is completely “false.” As we recently reported, Tatum also posted on Instagram a photo of his wife sleeping in the nude with the caption, “Nap time = The Best Time.” Neither photo, however, proves the couple are desperate for attention on social media. It’s just yet another fake news story concocted by the outlet.
If you broadcast things on social media for public consumption, it is for attention. How desperate? It depends on how often you post. Judging from Mrs. Tatum's frequency of social media sharing, "desperate" is not inaccurate.
It will be interesting to see what they will do next. Will they reconsider they social media strategy? I miss Channing's social media presence pre-2015.
Also Mrs. Tatum just got a gig on Jennifer Lopez' show "World of Dance". She is hired as one of the four judges/mentors on the show. But an insider Kristyn Burtt tweeted: "Interesting #WorldOfDance tidbit: Producers held auditions for a non-celeb host. Jenna Dewan Tatum was a last-minute hire."
Now I remembered last year it was reported that the Tatums wanted to develop their own dance competition show with NBC. In that show, Mrs. Tatum would be the main star. But that didn't happen because NBC decided to go with a similar show headlined by JLo. Eventually Mr. Tatum managed to squeeze herself into JLo's show.
In the last two weeks, they taped "World of Dance" at least twice. On Twitter, people mentioned that Channing was on set both times. This makes me wonder if one of the conditions that Mrs. Tatum got this job was that Mr. Tatum would make guest appearances on World of Dance.
Channing always supports his wife's career, such as their appearance on Lip Sync Battle. But I am not a fan of people who adavance their careers through nepotism.
