Random Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell Stuff
On Tumblr, I often saw people said something like: "White male privilege is Channing Tatum getting a movie made after him being a stripper but Amber Rose and Blacc Chyna get publicly shamed regularly for being strippers".
I guess they only saw Magic Mike's success, but they didn't know how difficult to get it made. Channing's business partner Reid Carolin recently told screerant.com
Channing and Steven wrote a check out of their checking accounts for it and we sold it to Warner Bros. halfway through. People don’t really know that had anything gone wrong, Channing wouldn’t have been able to pay his mortgage on his house a month later and he would have been bankrupt. He really wanted to make this movie and leveraged himself to do it and it worked.
Then the same person replied saying :"But all this ranting and raving over it is only because he’s a white man that all these ppl (I don’t care enough to research the demographic of who watches that movie) find attractive while there are no (successful and promoted) movies that show the life of strippers such Amber or Chyna…. And Tatum got 2 movies out of it so like……..yeah."
Blame white male privilege for everything? I don't know much about Blacc Chyna, but Amber Rose seems to be more famous for her history with Kanye West and their nasty Twitter fights. I actually didn't know Rose was a stripper until recently. While Amber Rose was busy with Twitter fights, Channing Tatum worked his ass off to make his own movies. So in this specific case, I won't call it white male privilege.
In two more days, I am going to watch Magic Mike XXL. Can't wait.
In the meanwhile, Jamie Bell was is New Zealand now filming Six Days. Filming set to move to London in August. Jamie works with Mark Strong again in this movie.
Finally, a young Channing.
Here is Channing with his daughter (the one in pink dress and pink shoes) on Friday. But now he has already arrived at London to promote MMXXL.
