More on HBO's Rome

I have watched three episodes of Rome Season 1 by now. The library discs have many scratches, so they cannot be played smoothly. I had to restart the disc player from time to time. Annoying!

I still found original characters like Lucius Virenus and Titus Pullo more watchable than the more famous characters, such as Caesar, Magnus or Mark Antony.

There is one brutal head surgery scene in episode 2. Urgh! The part Lucius asked Titus about women is quite funny. Both seemed to be decent men at this point, but both had flaws. I find Titus would be fun to spend time with. Lucius, he had serious problem communicating with women.

Aria is really interesting. She was very practical. She would do anything to get what she wanted. The way she treated her children... She was not a good mother, but an extremely entertaining character. I really want to see some female characters like Aria in The Eagle fan fictions, not just some clichè Cottia type of female characters.

Also I searched for the actor who played Titus because he looks familiar. Then I found out his name is Ray Stevenson, and I realized he played the main baddie in G. I. Joe : Retaliation. Channing had a reduced role in this movie. I don't think he shared any screen time with Stevenson. But in this London Premiere photo, you can see Ray standing in front of the movie poster with Channing in it :) Such a small world, isn't it? Now can Titus teach Marcus Aquila how to have fun?
