Retreat DVD out on Oct. 17th
Back in July, I went to Montreal to see Jamie Bell's Retreat. The movie turns out to be a disapointment (my review is here). And I just learnt from this site that the DVD / Blu-ray of Retreat will be released in UK on Oct. 17th. Sounds like 'straight to dvd". I don't think the distribution company will even spend money promoting Retreat. Now I try to think of some nice things about movie, well, Jamie looks good when he is clean (but he is covered with blood half of his screen time) on the screen. There are a couple of good scenes showing of his acting range and wiry body ;p
Anyway, if money is an issue, rent the movie or just download it. After watching movies like this or Channing's Ten Year, I will say never trust first-time director. There might be a few exceptions, but most of the time it's true.
