46 Days + STAR TREK (no real spoiler) + Benjamin Button

May 09, 2009 16:09

According to Film France, Merlin was filmed in Pierrefonds for 46 days in 2008. If we only count working days, that's about 2 months, less than I assumed.

I also found out that the lake in The Gates of Avalon and Excalibur is called Speech House Lake, located in Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England, UK. (Source)

Watched Star Trek this afternoon. I realise that I am NOT the kind of girl who can ship everybody / everything. For example, I don't see real chemistry between Kirk and Spock. There is no deep connection between the two in this movie.

When I first saw Spock's mom, I thought she looked like Winona Ryder, and it turns out that it is Winona Ryder. Her character Amanda Grayson has one of the most ridiculous costumes.

I saw Eric Bana doing press for the movie, but it was till I saw the ending credit, I realised he played Nero - the bad guy.

The most lovable character in this movie is the 17-year-old "Pavel Chekov". I love his Russian accent.

Rewatched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on blu-ray. And they were talking about that Cate Blanchett has the most beautiful cheekbones. That's true. So does Colin. These days, I can relate anything I see with Merlin.

David Fincher said one of the conditions that Brad Pitt agreed to do the movie was that he could play Benjamin of different ages. However, I think Bradley can pull off a 25-year-old Benjamin. No need for CG. If David Fincher knew Bradley James back in 2006/2007, it could save him a lot of money. I like the scene between 55-year-old Daisy and 25-year-old Benjamin. When Daisy said "you are so much younger", Benjamin answered "only on the outside". The lines were delivered beautifully by  Blanchett and Pitt. Such dialogues can be used for an Arthur x Merlin story.
