Lots has happened in the last few weeks. Canberra over Easter was just great, met a whole lot of very lovely people. And Melbourne was so good too! In amongst playing/singing and delivering easter eggs to children in special schools, cooking hot brekkie for the homeless, providing food and music, plus a games night for homeless and church people too, going to church, doing a late night food run and getting yelled at by a street girl - she was a Christian, and concerned with us "Tasmanians" who don't know know the streets and being left alone by the coordinator so it was fair enough, there was still time for shopping. Caught lots of trams from one end of the city to the other, where the Salvo city church, 614, is. I am very thankful for being able to choose what and when I eat, plus having a warm place to sleep at night.
And today was slightly interesting. Had my two bottom wisdom teeth out and was pretty nervous before hand. Arrived at 8am and was put on hold for an hour for a poor little boy who had fractured his jaw. Answered the same questions at least four times to four different people. The nurses were fantastic - very nice. The anaesthetist was great too...and instead of an injection I got the gas. He told me to imagine lying on a beach with the sun streaming down, warm on my face...and then I woke up, my face and neck covered in iodine or something yellow and an icepack around my face. The numbness around my jaw and lips has only just disappeared - so it was something strong, or I had lots of it injected into my jaw, or maybe both!
I know that there were heaps of people praying for me, which was very comforting at the time. Not really any pain, just lots of bloodied drool :) Charming! Soup and yogurt for a week I think...
It is a little frustrating, not having ANY idea what on earth they did to me! A needle in my arm when I woke up, stitches in my mouth, and when I just got dressed for bed, I found something stuck on my ribs - it monitors your heart according to mum. Didn't even know.
