Just the sort of thing I wanted to read.

And to think that I almost didn't read it because I thought the summary was trying too hard...

Okay, I HATE those ones that are all "I come bearing fic. Slash if you squint! I own House and Wilson! LOL JUST KIDDING. If I owned House and Wilson, they'd be having sex on the show by now! Anyway a plot bunny bit me and I wrote this in five minutes, so I didn't get a beta! R&R PLZ!"

Those stories make me want to beat myself to death with a stuffed unicorn.

So when I read your (only slightly pretentious summary) I was all "Sounds good... TOO good. Yeah, House_wilson, you're usually an okay community...but what have you done for me LATELY?"

Well, I am certainly glad you did decide to give it a try, despite my "summary." But honestly, I am not sure to what you are referring. Which part of my summary seemed pretentious? Because that certainly wasn't my intention. If it struck readers that way I need to change it. I do tend to be wordy, but that is just me... I like WORDS and I use them - a lot. Heck, you should see the summary and into notes on my Journal about my stories! But then again, as a reader, I always like some background info - so I tend to give it in my work ( ... )

Oh, no, I didn't mean to come across as over-critical. I think your story is really excellent and I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming chapters. I'm intrigued by the plot, I'm finding it just what I want to read, and I'm generally finding it a pleasant, unexpected surprise that should be garnering tons of attention from the community ( ... )

Okay. Thanks for the clarification. You had me worried that I had unintentionally insulted potential readers by coming across as condescending, but I think I understand what you are saying. I too love a good long, involved fic...but I am leery of WIP because too often they get dropped somewhere in the middle and never resurrected. That is one reason I made it clear to readers that THE ORACLE *is* a completed piece, and only posted in drabs because of the requirements of LJ.

I hope very much this continues to hold your interest.
