Parts of it were excellent...We assembled on a fine evening in Finsbury Park, enjoying the last of the recent warm spell, to play the Comets Yellow, an offshoot of the higher division Comets.
Had we played better throughout, the result would at least have been less one-sided. Sadly, the pressure came off our opposition and what had promised to be a close match became a rout. The first couple of innings saw us playing well, though with the Comets' excellent batting giving them a slight edge. Then our collective wheels came off and tactical errors, misthrows and fumbles on our part let the game get away from us. We rallied somewhat at the end, but by then the damage was done.
Ironically, I had quite a good game - played at Second where I made a good tag out early on, and at the end when Michael changed the fielding positions around I was moved to First where I managed with no problems.
