I'm now in Bedfordshire, having come up on Christmas Eve to stay with my sister's family over Christmas. I'm using their computer while they are visiting sister's father-in-law. It was lovely to arrive at their house on Christmas Eve with all its decorations and the big Christmas tree, with the children looking forward to Santa coming...
Opened presents on Xmas morning - people seemed happy with what I'd given them - Julie liked her top and the
book, Mum was pleased with the shopping bag, George liked Shrek II, and Jak-Jak (who's two in February) loved his new clothes. Mum, bless her, bought me a PS2, and also
Zelda: the Minish Cap for the GBA. But my top present is probably the "first-class librarian" coffee mug from my sister.
Been eating lovely meals (BIL is a very good cook), playing board games, watching some TV, etc. I made a turkey pie for dinner yesterday.
Had a first look at the
King William College quiz - I only have about twenty so far, but have worked out the linking theme of some sections. Haven't had a chance to use reference sources properly, though (on principle, I won't use search engines till I've had a chance to see how Keir's done next week - he's not on the Net, so it wouldn't be fair).
Shopping trip yesterday - I used my HMV voucher from Jo & Rob to buy extended DVD of ROTK, and Jak-Jak acquired a wonderfully un-babyish
new pushchair.
Looks like I'll be around here till Sunday, so, if I don't get to use the PC again, a very happy New Year to everyone!
