Well, call me a crabapple, but was I ever in a bad mood a couple of hours ago....all because of impatience, something Ive gotten quite good at avoiding the experience of. So Ive got to go to PetSmart to get the fancy cat food for Daisy as the store that I can easily get to is out. To get there, I have to take the LRT to South Campus, then #6 bus to Southgate mall, then #304 bus. So, with my ETS luck, and so many places for something to go wrong, of course the trip was a disaster.
First, the lrt decided to develop a "major problem" halfway to southcampus, where none of the doors would open, and the train itself reset a couple of times, and we sat there trapped in the train for 12 minutes before the driver decided to continue to the end of the line at South Campus to manually release the passengers (!). Im unconcerned at this point in time, but man some people were pissed that the train didnt let them off/let them on (even though there was another right there by then as they are on a 10 min frequency). So the #6 leaves 5 minutes late because some other bus was late and radioed for us to wait. As we are at the red light (that takes 5 minutes +) to enter the Southgate transit station, the #304 pulls out...@%$%# 30 minute wait for me. Blah. Then its a 15 minute ride, and I have to wait 30 minutes for it to come back, 15 minutes back...#9 bus to downtown and all and all this took me more than 3 hours, so my efforts to leave early to work on/prepare for my Senior Seminar --thwarted.
At least I got the damn cat food, and after finally getting a subway sub at 345pm and eating, I was in a better mood. I worked on my seminar an hour, and practiced it, and am happy to report its around 50 minutes long, which means Ill nicely do 45 tomorrow. I hope. I guess we will see....did I mention Im nervous as hell about that? I swear Ill never get used to presentations...
