I read this at work, but I couldn't comment... silly school, blocking LJ...

Again, amazing job with this scene. I like getting to know Hannah more, and I think you did a great job of portraying her andintroducing her friend. You spent a good amount of time describing Denni (I loved Blue thinking he'd seen her chat about boys and do hair at the same time... that sentence flowed very nicely and made me laugh), but by using the yin/yang idea, you really spent an equal amount of time describing Hannah, because she's the opposite of everything Denni is.

I like that you show the complexity of the kids' emotions... and that they aren't self-centered in their affections for their mom. A lot of times, books about kids have them feeling self-entitled to whatever they want... and they don't always worry about the effects of their actions on their family. Blue's family isn't like that. They care so much about their mom that they're torn between keeping out this "invader" and seeing her happy again. The tension is palpable in every scene and you portray it wonderfully.

Still loving it... and really hoping that whole comment made sense. I'm reeeeaaaaally tired right now. >.
