I haven't read her Commando series (Though I think my brother has them) but she was one of the authors on the Legacy of the Force series, where she pretty much single-handily pulled Bobba Fett out of whatever hole he'd slipped into and forcibly inserted him back into the main cannon line story. He was pretty much forced to be Mandolore and had to go back and help rebuilt their planet. It was wonderful. Plus, I love them dearly from the Knights of the Old Republic (have you ever played those games or read the comics? Everything under that title is just amazing). The games are right after the Mando Wars, so there's a lot of them running around, like one of your companions. I adore him (Especially when he gets into bitching matches with another of your Companions who was a Republic solider during the way). Then you can get him to tell you stories about the wars and stuff. He's great. He shows up in the second game too.

I completely understand about the book rec list. It once took me almost two weeks to put on together for a friend. Whenever you have the time/inclination that would be awesome.
