And now, for the Grand Finale of Eight Things I Love About Eight Series
STAR WARS
(Because yes, I can't remember a time I hadn't seen these movies. Because my brother and I ran around as Luke and Leia, because yes Han was totally my first crush, and because yes, I rewatch the original trilogy every year, or, even twice a year. With my whole family usually. I'm thinking tomorrow will be a good time for A New Hope, part 20).
8. Ewoks!
Too many people I’ve known say Ewoks are stupid or pointless or ruined Return of the Jedi. Whatever, I love them. I’ve always, always wanted one to hug. They’re so adorable… and in large pissed off numbers, rather deadly too.
7. IT’S A TRAP
It’s a Trap. What more do you need to know?
6. Obi-Wan Kenobi
He was the only good thing about the Prequel trilogy. But beyond that, by god was he awesome in a New Hope.
5. The Main Trio
The interactions between Luke, Leia, and Han are fantastic. (Throw in Chewie and I'm even happier). I just adore all these characters so much.
4. Mandolorians
Bad. Ass. People.
3. Revan
I’m not spoiling Knights of the Old Republic because I know some people on my f-list haven’t played it yet (What is wrong with you people?). Let’s just say, for a Sith Lord, Revan has some pretty awesome stuff going. I have never loved plot points more.
2. R2-D2
There’s really not much I need say about this.
1. Luke Skywalker
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! A lot of times people complain about Luke, that he’s too “goody” or too whiny. And the thing is, he does start off as being pretty whiny it’s true. But he’s a teenage boy stuck in the ass end of no-where. Wouldn’t you be a whiny brat at that stage to? But the thing is, he grew out of it (Anakin remained a whiny idiot until he suddenly leveled up in Badass to become Darth Vader. There was no growth in between, just suddenly, WHAM badass). Luke grew out of it into one of the greatest leaders of the New Republic. And he looked really good doing it.
