Manhunt

Fucking hell.

I'm watching my brother play Manhunt, that 'banned' game with all the violence, and not only am I now understanding the game in a whole new way after learning a bit about the story line, but I am also getting royally freaked out by the 'Pigsy' monster and the heartbeat in the background!!

Let me begin with a description for all of you that don't have teenage brothers.

Manhunt is a 1P action and strategy game. It's really a 'horror' game more than anything else, but the game uses a surprising amount of tactical knowledge and 'skill', in that you can't just mindlessly attack things with guns, you have to plan out your weapon use, your route through the building and your goals in each level before you even begin.

The background is an interesting story. James Earl Cash, a convicted murderer on death row, is given a sedative instead of being killed. He is then transported to a secret location where a powerful film director, who also makes snuff movies, has set up a 'asylum' full of both dangerous and insane criminals. and we aren't talking criminal insanity, we are talking full blown thinking you're a pig, running around with a chainsaw in a pigskin suit and mask (ala Leatherface). The aim of the game is to get your character (James Earl Cash) out of this labyrinth alive, and to save his family (if possible - apparently he doens't care).

I think I might easily become addicted to this game. Honestly. Despite the nightmares that 'Pigsy' will give me (I find pigs slightly unnerving anyway, last thing I need is that on my mind). It's like Silence of the Lambs meats the Texas Chainsaw Massacre!!!

So anyway, he's run off to eat dinner now, and I want to see what happens next!

Damn brothers!
