Galway
So, here I am - three weeks in. I met with the director of the PhD program I applied to. Things went well, so now I just have to see if I'll get the funding to do it. I did however get rejection letters for two jobs I applied for :( on the plus side though, those jobs were in Dublin and would have complicated things for me and Justin. I was a bit nervous about moving in with him, since we're both used to being on our own. But things are going really well. We've been looking at houses, and puppies, and tortoises... what more could a girl want?
I also found an English website that sells yarn and raw fiber. I ordered a few things. Since there is no where to buy cool yarn in Galway, I might dye some and see if I can sell it at this craft shop, or possibly this Sunday market we have in Claregalway. I bought some raw wool and I have my drop spindle with me. I'm horrible at spinning, but I should really force myself to learn.
Also - we found an awesome tea and cake shop, and it's right across the street from a craft/yarn shop. I was in heaven. We had afternoon tea and cakes, and I am very tempted to try to round up a group of knitters to go hang out there. It'd be perfect for a knitting group.
