omg. what a weekend. i'll save my big news for the end of the entry.

so the pageant is all done : ( i got there friday. as soon as i walked in the Dover Sheraton hotel (where the pageant was held at) i knew it would be tough. most of the girls there had perfect bodies and many had competed in pageants previously. some were so gorgeous i couldnt even take my eyes off of them. the pageant consisted of Miss Teen Delaware and Miss Delaware (Miss DE= umarried women over 18). the Miss DE girls were STUNNING. like, whatever i defined as beautiful... they gave me a whole new meaning to the word. and then Miss Teen... there were 55 delegates. some girls you could tell right away would be finalists, others it was like why did she waste her money? we all knew the judges would want diversity in the 15 semifinalists and of course there was at least 1 pretty girl of other races (asian, black, hispanic). so yea, i felt like i was in way over my head. friday night was preliminaries. i felt confident in my performance, esp. w/ it being my first pageant. i had my interview saturday morning which went well, but not as well as i wouldve liked. saturday afternoon sucked, cuz it was 5 hours of rehearsal and it was nerve-racking cuz theres perfect people are all around me and i really just wanted today to come so i could know who made semis. then saturday night came, which was the dinner dance. it was so much fun, all of us girls were just dancing together and it was like wed all been friends for awhile. no pressure was on anymore cuz at that point judging was over, and we just had to wait to find out today who was gonna make it. chase and my parents and brother (and his gf) were there, which made the night even more special. i actually cried though towards the end... that song "butterfly kisses" came on, and i was slowdancing with chase and just started thinking about that song and how much it means to me. it totally resembles my relationship with my dad, and it made me realize how much we've kinda grown apart sinec i was a little girl and that song came out. and, thats me and my dad's song, and im not dancing with him because i have an additional guy in my life... so as soon as the song was done i went over to my dad, sobbing, and hugged him. it was a very special moment, and i never want to forget it. i love my daddy.
and then today came.... all of us delegates go out and perform the choreography. it was such a rush being onstage. we do our final dance and then the top 15 are announced. I... was not one of them. of course, i was disappointed. i was also surprised, cuz i didnt expect to see some of those girls in the top 15, and i honestly thought id had a chance. but whatever. because, at the end, before Miss Teen and Miss DE were announced, the special awards were given for Best in Swimsuit(/Fitness award), Best in Evening Gown, Miss Congeniality, and Most Photogenic (one for Miss and one for Teen, per category). I won best in swimsuit!!!! ah, im so proud that i won that particular award. plus, now i have a trophy : ) im so glad i did this pageant, id totally do it again.
