Left on not right?

We’ve been performing at the “Paladin” faires for 7 years now. Good or bad, they are ALWAYS memorable. (Last year was “fat people in heat”.)
It isn’t a huge faire, and they can’t pay us a huge amount. So, to keep costs low, we drive down early Saturday morning and back Sunday night so we only have to pay for one night at a hotel. It’s about 4 hours each way, so we start out before 6.
The weather looked weird as we started. It was a warning.

We’ve been there before, so it wasn’t a problem getting there. The computer directions weren’t very good and told us to take a U-turn at some point on a hill and look for a road. But, it didn’t say what point and it wasn’t marked.
But, I remembered from the year before “we turn left at not right road.”
That’s not how it’s spelled, but you get the idea.

And, we all got to the faire without problem.

My wife was wearing a new costume.

I think it looks nice, but apparently was quite tight and gave problems for her when sitting.

But, she took joy in the fact she was still fast enough to get the camera from me if she tried.

And, she could sword fight in it without problem.

I love action shots....
Here you can see her getting ready to knee perrin_o_ravnos in the back after dropping her sword and buckler. She’s got his shoulders before they hit the ground.

We had two new people on the trip with us. We’re teaching them some of the historical moves.

Now, before you ask, the historical move I was working on with her was dagger fighting.

I have to say, my wife seems really happy with a rapier in her hands.

Our other new person, adorabrightmoon did her first historical performance with julytooth. It went fine and no one was told it looked like they were feeling anyone else up, so I guess it was better then me with a dagger...

This is the part that on the next day only half my sword would remain.

Of course we also did our midevil lawnmower fight.

And, our pointed stick fight.

Towards the end of the day it started raining again. The new tent is very nice, a bit of water got in, but not much. We did have to shake off the sides.

The rain got heavier and heavier. By the time we left, I was soaked.

So, we went to Venice.

Actually, just an Italian restaurant near the hotel. I think in the picture of Venice you can see Indiana Jones being chased by those crusader guys, but I’m not sure...

The hotel looked like an old 50’s drive up place, but was very nice and modern on the inside.

We went to sleep.
