What I'm reading: Hello fall!

Can’t believe the last time I did this was in April. Where did summer go??

What I'm Reading Now: The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. It’s one of those reads that go by quickly when you pick it up…the trouble is actually picking it up. It’s a philosophical work masquerading as a novel, which I don’t quite know how to feel about yet.

What I'm Reviewing Next: I’ve been on a tear ever since coming back from my family’s Maine vacation last month. Perhaps because my brain is sensing the end of summer is here and my reading time (for fun, that is) is going to be cut down drastically. In the pipeline: Orange is the New Black, Isla and the Happily Ever After, Tender at the Bone, and Just One Day.

What I'm Reading Next: I picked up Cooked by Michael Pollan from the library the other day, since I remembered how much I enjoyed The Omnivore’s Dilemma. For lighter fare, I also snagged What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick, who seems to be gaining momentum in the YA world.

What I Can’t Wait For: For the first time in a long time, I’m not too sure what to look forward to this fall. There’s a new Tana French coming out, The Secret Place. The Infinite Sea, the follow-up to Rick Yancey’s The 5th Wave, is also imminent. I’ve become much more laid-back about my reading choices, so in a way release dates aren’t that big of a deal for me.

A Bit of News: I’ll be starting grad school in October (ahhh) so that will probably change how often I’ll review. I’ve been told grad school comes with a lot of reading! I’ll be posting regular updates about my travels and studies to another site, which I’ll share soon. I do hope I can squeeze in at least one novel or two during the semester!
