Queen Mab hath been with you

Quote of the Week:  Shakespeare Month!

Back in high school, my favorite English teacher got ecstatic over two things:  Elvis, and the Ides of March.  She'd give out "Golden Elvis stickers" to only the outstanding essays, but for the Ides of March, she went all out:  she'd have her class dress up in togas, bring "blood-stained"  desserts, and declaim passages from Julius Caesar in a competition.  Sounds utterly wacky, but in a small school like mine, it was totally fun.

Thinking about that now has inspired me to dedicate March quotes to Shakespeare.  Your suggestions last week were fantastic, and they've also inspired me to add a twist:  Youtube videos!  When
christina_reads mentioned that after all, Shakespeare's meant to be seen, I realized that's when I enjoyed Shakespeare the most--when it's being performed, naturally.  So why type out lengthy passages when I can have actors say such lines?  ;)

To start things off, I've gathered clips from Baz Luhrmann's version of Romeo and Juliet--but I think we've had our fill of these star cross'd lovers, no?  Mercutio, on the other hand, is on my list of under-appreciated characters of all time. The first 4 minutes and 45 seconds of the following clip is his "Queen Mab" speech; the last clip, from Hulu, is his memorable send-off:  "A plague o' both your houses!"
