I think more Ugly Betty moments are inevitable

Sorry I've been MIA. Georgetown's loss in the Final Four was an excuse to lie comatose for a couple of days, oblivious to any sort of work or actual responsibility. It was a good, exciting run while it lasted. Two or so days after the game, when they were back on campus, I found it hilarious that the school threw an informal rally for them, after which they signed autographs and took pictures. A part of me wanted to gag, thinking "This is SILLY. They're the same age as I am. They're just students." But then another part wanted to force one of the managers I knew to introduce me to Jwall. Mmmmhmmm, yes, please!

But now I am home for a little while longer for Easter break. I'm beginning to wish I had enough money to fly between DC and NY now because 5 hour bus rides each way are becoming tiresome. But then again I must if it's for interviews: 35 dollars spent now...or a future salary after college...hmmm. I stopped by the Hearst Corporation's offices in midtown (they own magazines like Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Teen, and Country Living), and the building is gorgeous. The offices were not as new-agey and spacelike as Ugly Betty's or as in 13 Going on 30 but they were as swank. Although I am beginning to realize that I'm developing a bad habit of arriving just in the nick of time for an interview. This is bad news when the hard part is not finding the building, but finding the floor in these high-tech complexes. I didn't realize it, but they had elevators in which you have to punch in your desired floor in a separate monitor beforehand. Hence, the moment of panic when I realized the elevator car that I jumped into did not even have buttons, and that I was hurtling toward an unknown floor. With help from a sympathetic employee, I made it just fine.

sports news i normally dont care about, internship
