Annoyed!

Mar 11, 2008 16:28

I just logged on to check responses and all that having been away for a few days and have noted at least one new response written anonymously, of course, by someone slating my religion and pointing me towards a site which denigrates it.
After deleting it (and any others if you bother doing it again btw) I just have to ask why?

There are hundreds of ( Read more... )

Ugh, people. I have a friend who's a Jehovah's Witness and he gets crap for it all the time. :\

Yeah, I know what that's like. I'm annoyed because, as far as I know, I'm human.

Umm, what an asshat? It's your personal LJ about your personal life, beliefs, etc. If someone doesn't agree they need to accept that we all have differences or just to move on. And posting anonymously? That's just pathetic.

For the record, if you're okay that I don't always believe in the same things you do, and vice versa, but I respect and enjoy you as a friend, then everything's cool. The world would be way too freakin' boring if we were all exactly alike...

I'm fine with that. It makes for an interesting time but I hate being slated for it.

I'm spitting mad right now. Who the FUCK do they think they are? Harrassing you because you believe differently! Bastards! Lemme at 'em...or better yet, let my MOM at 'em. If you think I'm scary, you should see HER when someone messes with someone she cares about. Wait 'til I tell her...

:::hugs you and pets you and protects you from the bigoted assholes:::

They did it again-- in this thread. It makes me so annoyed I swear (well, I don't actually swear, but you know what I mean). I wonder if they are really all there?

Having dealt with bigotry for my own beliefs, I would never dream of oppressing and harrassing someone else. I don't understand why people can't be more tolerant. I really, really don't. I, for one, completely respect, support, and admire you in every way, and that includes respecting, supporting, and admiring your faith and your commitment to your beliefs.

Anonymous posters drive me up a tree. Especially when they say asinine things that they aren't brave enough to log in for. I'm sorry that you had to go through that.

The US was founded on religious freedom and it drives me nuts that so many people have forgotten that.

Blessed Be :)

I'm in the UK and with all the immigrants and refugees and the fact that non-christain religions make up the majority of the UK, you'd think people would be a little more tolerant! I just wish they had the guts to put a name to the bigot.

It seems to be the biggest issue that people have with us liberal Catholics.

Me either. Apparently we don't know our own ideals that, yes, are contradictory to what some of our own Archbishops say, but who cares? We can dream, and continue changing the world one bigot at a time :)

It's funny that the people who are the worst with making these kind of assumptions are generally those who claim to be (or are) atheists. Sometimes, I wonder if it's jealousy.
