Oh, STOMP, how I enjoy you, although I will admit that you are starting to show a bit of your age.
I first saw STOMP with Joanna about seven years ago - the rhythms have stayed primarily the same, the stage hasn't changed a bit, but they've managed to throw in a few new surprised to maintain some interest. But, like RENT, I wonder how much longer it will be relevant.
Sometime during the show, it started coming down again. Hard. Horizontally. Anything but picnic weather. As a native Michigander, I'm used to February being filled with days of subzero temperature so the tornado warnings are something entirely new. I will, however, sleep well tonight as the rain beats against the side of the building and the lightning flashes. It was a little crazy driving back home from campus, however, as the storm has knocked out power to half of the city.
I came home to an email from one of my students who lives in the complex across the street: Hey ! This is going to sound really weird, but I just want you to know that I have a basement, and we are going to be getting some really bad storms tonight. I don't know if you have a basement or not, but you are more then welcome to come and use mine if you get worried with the storms. I really, really appreciate my undergrads.
