oh yes, and i wanted to update everyone on my sweet doggy. first of all, i guess i should tell you the whole story. my dad always brought pup to work with him because if he ever dropped anything in the water, pup would jump in and go get it for him. incredible, right? i know. anyway, one day pup ran off, which is not entirely unusual. a few days later, a guy calls my dad and says that pup is dead in his creek. we thought, "oh, how nice of this guy!" he didn't have to go in the creek, get the collar off and call us. but he did, and he told us this grand story about how two dogs who ganged up on pup and killed him. now pup was a big dog, and a fighter. so these must have been pit bulls or great danes. the guy described the dogs and which direction they came from. he explained that his neighbor tried to break them up with a "water hose." he said that pup went into some bushes, then (terribly wounded, according to Guy and Neighbor) he got up and walked to the creek where he died. dogs don't do that. they walk into the bushes maybe, but they don't get up when they know they're going to die and walk right in the open. so when my brother and dad went to pick pup up, he had not one scratch on him. instead, he had two bullet holes. the vet said there was NO FIGHT. my dad got the guy to explain to him several times what happened, and each time he gave us the same story about a dog fight, including descriptions of the other dogs.
the person my dad worked for printed out fliers and another one of my dad's friends handed them out. everyone in the neighborhood was very upset. she gave a flier to Guy. Guy refused to take it, but finally gave in and immediately called Dad. Guy said that he and Neigbor knew nothing about any other dogs. WHAT?!
there is a couple that live close to Guy and Neighbor that has a bunch of dogs. no one likes these people for some reason. anyway, they happened to have a dog that looks very similar to pup with the same red collar. my dad even mistook this dog for pup one day, but said his face was too light. one neighbor thought that maybe Guy/Neighbor may have thought pup was this dog, and shot him because they didn't like Dog Family. that's a shitty reason. assholes.
