Checking In!
So, I'm still alive and very disappointed to have to continue to go to work. EVERY patient, all of them not remotely ill showed up today and I can't help but worry. I've been very Gently Exposed to the viral C-word at least twice but not sick this week, so far so good. Our local ID expert didn't feel it was a big enough risk last week to pull me, but another bloke at the same hotel I stayed in, in the same convention I attended tested positive this weekend. Meanwhile, the State I live in has shut down most things, but not doctor's offices. Fooey.
What have I been working on? First: I don't see that I mentioned this here, but I co-wrote a lovely little Xmas story called It's Beginning to Smell A Lot Like Christmas with the delightful q_drew.
I published a chapter and am starting to really get interested in Time Immemorial again. I might be a good enough writer now to pull this off. Going back and listening to myself has been a bit of a cringey experience, but I am still proud of bits and pieces. I've really grown as a writer, I can definitely see that. I have about half of a prequel written an outline-ish thing for the rest of TI.
Finally, regarding Beltane (which I know people are waiting patiently for more), I've written four more chapters, and have more to write. The plot line is... risky? enough that I think I might need to finish writing the arc before I can post. I am still working towards the climax of the story - well, really I think I'm there, but am working out the resolution and the sexy good bits for the falling action. I have a goal of getting it completed before Beltane 2020.
I've of course been attacked by plot bunnies and wrote the first bit for a tea house AU SSHG inspired by a discord event on Hearts and Cauldrons, the trope that won was "mutual pining." I haven't posted it because I think it might be something bigger some day.
I have also outlined a bit of a story inspired by the Quarantines that are being imposed. It is SSHG too. Because, that's my ship.
I won four auctions for Fandom for Oz, and raised some money on my own too, but I think we're all mid-write on other things so it will be a while before that surfaces.
